SCUBA Diving at La Parguera, Puerto Rico

On Friday, 8 Jan 2011, six of us: Mike, Elizabeth, Aaron, Mark, Maura, and myself went diving off the wall 6 miles offshore of La Parguera on the southern coast of Puerto Rico. The first dive was to a shelf about 60 feet down, then over the edge of a wall to a max depth of 120 feet, where we swam east to a swim-through that lead us back up to the shelf. Visibility was about 80 feet and the water temperature was about 85 degrees. The second dive was further west along the shelf and we swam along a trench called The Chimney at a depth of about 70 feet. At one point I counted 23 barracuda circling close by while I was hovering over a giant green Moray eel looking out of a hole in the coral. Surrounded by curious predators.
