Sumidero Canyon, Chiapa de Corzo, Mexico

Early in the morning of 24 Feb 2013, I arrived in the airport of Tuxtla Gutierrez, in southern Mexico. My final destination was 15 miles away in Chiapa de Corzo and the taxi drivers charged $30 USD for the trip. Four Danish tourists from the same flight were also going to Chiapa de Corzo, after a tour of the local big tourist attraction, Sumidero Canyon, so I hopped in. An open boat with an outboard took us 15 miles down the river, through the canyon and back. A share of the van ride, the canyon tour, and lunch totaled about $30, so it was a much better deal than just a taxi. The pictures below are a sample of the sights.
